Wednesday

We finally got a light rain this morning and then a gully washer after I got home from pickle ball. The morning other than the much needed rain was much the usual. Chester did his 5 AM show, my quiet time and a bowl of oatmeal with tons of berries and a banana before riding out to the rec for 2 1/2 hours of pickle ball play. The play was very good and by 10 AM I was ready for a break with a wet shirt. I stopped by the library and picked up a new read before beating the rain home as the skies were heavy with black clouds.

Amy and the kiddos came for lunch so we had bean burritos and wraps, wow were they ever tasty. Sam and I stayed inside as it was too wet to play outside so we looked at old pictures together dating back to '03 on the computer; plus we read several books together. His retention level is great as well as he is a fast learner. He and Ava rough house together and he is a tough one but she is to strong for him yet and he usually winds up getting hurt, albeit for just moments. He is really talking and putting sentences together and is quickly learning his numbers and colors.

After the kids left which was late we decided to postpone our weekly Sam's trip until Thursday as there still was some showers and lightning bouncing around the area. It was a good afternoon to nap and read. I did vacuum as we were having house church tonight. We had 8 adults and one child for a study on the John Eldridge book; BEAUTIFUL OUTLAW. He is a great author and we did a men's study on his book WILD AT HEART a couple years ago when we were still at SFBC.

Nancy had a pot of beef vegetable soup cooking on the stove most of the afternoon and wow did that ever smell good and when we ate it around 5:30 it tasted as good as it smelled. We have plenty leftover for lunch for a couple days; one of my favorites. Well not much else is new except there has been very little good news about her dad's health. He is still in the hospital with fluid buildup and now he is unable to even move his legs. It's not looking as if all of these different treatments are working; but he is still lucid and aware of his surrounding. There is not much else that can be done at this point except pray that he is not suffering with pain, which he has not complained of yet. LATER
