NEW YEARS DAY

Well it was a wide awake night for me as I drank tons of sweet ice tea while playing games New years Eve at the Botbyl's house; so me who seldom uses caffeine was awake the entire night, anyhow I didn't feel bad or tired during the day on Sunday. Speaking of Sunday we headed out for worship at Element Church with Dan and Carol as we now carpool switching off each Sunday. The service attendance was lite but that was to be expected as lots of these young families were out of town but the praise music was awesome as well as a short message then we took the LORD'S SUPPER together.

We headed straight home this week as Nancy was preparing a large supper for Amy and her family as well as we invited Dan and Carol also. We usually eat out together after church somewhere around the Bay Area. Nancy put a pork loin in to roast along with smashed spuds, sauerkraut, Kielbasa, hot dogs and crusty bread. Amy picked up a lemon pie from the Village Inn which is always awesome. I saved my piece for Monday as I was too full from all the other goodies.

We spent the afternoon speaking with her in laws in Michigan as her dad was taken once again to the hospital. His kidneys are nearly shut down completely so it appears it will be just a matter of time, so keep all of us in your thoughts and prayers. He has rallied before but this time it isn't looking quite as promising. He still is somewhat lucid but unable to lift his limbs. He was admitted after spending the afternoon in the emergency room with the hope of flushing his kidneys and heart. I'm not sure what flushing means but that was the terminology used when describing the next step or procedure.

I watched a little NFL throughout the afternoon and our home town team the "hapless Bucs" were on par for a sub par performance against the Falcons and at one time were losing by the score of 42-0. The Falcon's put the bench warmers in and we did score about 26 points to make it look better. I think we need a whole new group of coaches as well as some of the players need to be prison. We have a bunch of thugs and law breakers on the the team who constantly shoot themselves in the foot as well as the local population. Unbelievable these guys are paid a ton of money to perform so badly. Enough said about the Bucs as you can tell my loyalty has left the Bay Area.

There should be some great college games on starting Monday and lasting through out the day as well as next week. These players show their desire to play hard without making the big bucks, although some of them are caught cheating as well. Sometimes I think we put to much emphasis on sports and not enough on things that matter. Well I started a new read by Steig Larsson and he is a great author(unfortunately he is dead) with super intrigue. I had heard alot about his novels and me not being much of a fiction reader finally was able to acquire one through the library system. There are 3 books in this triology so I'm reading the second one first.

Well it was nice enough we had the windows open with a house full of company and today we are planning on a low profile day with maybe getting a walk in and eat some leftovers. The for cast here is for the high 30's on Wednesday morning, Yikes my garden doesn't like that outlook. It was 62 this morning with some clouds and the sun just broke through. Hope your New Year is a healthy and prosperous one, LATER
