Sunday

The day was a little different than our normal Sunday as it was the 5th Sunday so instead of meeting for worship at Element we had a house church gathering. Several brought food to share and we sat around the table to fellowship. There was an egg and sausage casserole, french toast, fruit salad and sweet cakes along with juice and coffee. We had good time of fellowship after prayer. We left around 11:30 as it was being held at Dan and Carol's house which is just up the street.

I headed out to hand water the gardens and check on the new seedlings as well as the what needed to be harvested. Everything is looking good considering the damage those pesky squirrels do to digging. My neighbor has trapped several but they seem to be multiplying faster than we can haul them away, Oh well. The temperature has been just great with 50's at night and low 70's for the day and with little humidity. Too bad it couldn't stay this way for the next couple months.

GG seems to be getting on with her life as she and her sister and niece along with her son attended a concert on Saturday night then went out to dinner with friends on Sunday night. Her sister, Daryl and niece, Cris left on Sunday to return home in Pennsylvania so she will still have son Eric for a few more days this week. We will have them for supper on Monday night. I have a huge head of cabbage so we will make stuffed cabbage rolls along with smashed 'taters and of course the great salad from my garden. The lettuce just loves this weather especially the cool nights.

Not much else is going on except we took a long walk during the afternoon and ate a salad for supper. I read most of the evening and have really got into the Steinback book; I can see why he won the Nobel prize for writing. He writes as if this book is his autobiography. Its a great read about that era in American history. LATER
