Saturday

Brrr most of the day with lots of cloudy skies even though we stayed chilly we were able to walk in the afternoon and with a jacket on it was rather nice. We didn't have to have the heat but the house chilled down to 66 overnight. It felt good snuggling under a couple blankets except for big beak Chester we could have slept in later than 7:30. After a mountain breakfast of buckwheat cakes with a couple cackle berries on top I headed out to check on the gardens.

The bush bean seeds are all up so as soon as they get a little larger I will transplant them in hopes the pesky squirrels won't dig them up; also the new lettuce seeds are up and it will be awhile before I can move them into larger seedling packs as well. I've been picking my tomato's green as the squirrels have taken a liking to their flavor as well so I have managed to ripen about a half dozen in the window so far but the flavor is not the same. Oh well.

I watched the Saints and 49 Niners in what has to be one of the most exciting playoff games ever in the last quarter as the lead changed hands several times. I have been to Candlestick Park in Frisco and its a town crazy about their team and a beautiful place to play. I'm tickled for them and their win as I once rooted for them for years while stationed about 50 miles north of the Bay Area. I only managed to watch 3 quarters of the the Broncos and the Patriots as the Pats took the Denver team apart. They beat up on them so bad it was almost embarrassing to watch and I really felt for the young rookie Tebow as he played his heart out, but got little support for the rest of the team. The team was certainly and underdog and its showed. Their should be some good games on today(Sunday) as the season winds down to the 2 super bowl selections.

Well with the near passing of Pap Pap(Nancy's dad) another great grandson of his was born On Saturday. Brett and Liz Everett gave birth to a son John Sebastion weighing in at a lite weight of nearly 6 pounds. He initially had some lung problems at birth but has recovered and is doing better. It seems almost ironic that as his great grand father is passing on a new life is born in his lineage. Well there isn't much new to post other than these 2 occasions which we celebrate one and are saddened by the other and they both have to do with life and death. We are delighted that Nancy's dad accepted Jesus into his life and maybe this will lead to her mom making that same decision as well; as granddaughter Arianne stated Heaven will not be the same without them.
