Thursday

Things are quite busy around here with company still in town after the funeral. Our morning started out the usual with the wake-up around 5 with big mouth Chester next door, then my quiet time and a bowl of cereal with fruit before riding out to the rec for my 2 plus hours of pickle ball. Wow did it feel good to be back again and we had a good turn out with some good play. After the workout I stopped off for a couple reads at the library and picked up the newest Nicholas Sparks THE BEST OF ME book. Actually I got that for Nancy but I read nearly half of it during the afternoon.

I transplanted some more bush bean seedlings and then picked 1/2 runner beans and lots of lettuces and kale for a huge salad for supper as we were all meeting once again at GG's for supper. Originally the whole gang was coming to our house but Daryl(GG's sister) likes to go to bed early as she is nearly 90 years old so we cooked the dinner and brought it to her house. We had mac and cheese, smoked brisket, salad, squash casserole, crusty bread and Amy made a carrot cake. What a feed that was and then we played a little Sequence The guys whupped the gals 5-1 in a hotly as always contested match. One gal had to be a guy and we still whupped them even though there was some collusion going on.

We stayed and visited until after 10 PM and had a great time cutting up, eating and telling stories. Diane's brother L.W. and his wife Kathy came over from Okeechobee( about 3 hours to the southeast)and spent the day as well. Friday Diane flies back to Detroit and Eric will stay on for a few days longer as will Daryl and Chris. There is another family dinner scheduled for Friday night.

GG seems to be doing well but did make a remark of how lonely it will be once every one leaves in a week or so. She is only about 10 minutes from us and I'm sure we will be there daily as her needs will be many. LATER
