Wednesday

Well it sure turned out to be a very warm day after a cool start; of course a couple days ago we had cold temps in the 30's and evidence of frost. After a 7:30 wake up we did our quiet times then had a mountain breakfast of  buckwheat cakes, hickory smoked bacon and free range eggs; yeow did that ever taste good and what a great way to start the day. After eating and the cleanup I headed outside to spend the morning working with the gardens and then I decided to change the oil in my golf cart. Its been a couple years since I last changed it. We decided to take a hike after I completed that chore.

I changed into shorts and a t-shirt as the temps were in the high 70's. We had an awesome hike and I made it to the very top without stopping. Nancy took a couple "get your breath stops" but she quickly caught up with her long strides. We saw no one on this hike and made it back to the cabin in 45 minutes. We had a lite lunch of leftovers.

After lunch we took off on the golf cart to the mailbox but stopped off at Russ and Linda's for a chat. We shared some of the green peppers we picked from Joe's patch as well as a few cherry tomato's from the last tomato plant in our garden. I took off while Nancy visited with Linda to the mailbox then stopped and visited with Grant as he was about to head out to his residence down off the mountain. I cut a bunch of limbs that were poking out into the road on the way back to the cabin.

Nancy had a small pork roast in the oven baking and along with smashed taters, gravy, salad and peas we had us a feast. Yeow was that ever good eatin'. After the clean-up we headed outside as it still was close to 70 degrees, so we clipped some briar's that were growing in the fence rows then headed up the back trail to clip some of the branches that was crowding our path. We stayed outside until nearly dark before calling it a day around 7:30, LATER
