Saturday

Well it was a just about a wash out for the day with a soft rain falling as we awakened around 7:30 to start the day. After our quiet times we each made egg sandwiches for breakfast around 10 AM. The rain fell steady and at times it poured a gully washer. I did some household chores like vacuuming as we were having a ton of friends for supper around 5:30. The rain finally let up around noon so we took off on our hike to the top of the mountain around noon. It was a good fast hike as we heard thunder in the distant. We stopped and picked up our weekly dozen of free range eggs that Jetta picked up for us then we headed back down the trail. It starting sprinkling again just as we reached the back yard and shortly thereafter the skies opened up.

I tuned in to the college football games and then read a little while we waited for the rain to let up. It finally slowed down around 4 PM. I put the cut chicken on the grill for a 5:30 supper. Yikes was that ever good along with all the side dishes brought by everyone. We had squash casserole, deviled eggs, potato salad, fresh garden salad, pigs in a blanket, hot rolls and chocolate cake with white icing and of course both barbecue and grilled chicken. We had a total of 11 for supper and afterwards a raucous game of Sequence. Once again the gals come through with a win for the night. We met Karin's male friend Roger along with Katelyn's male friend Jonathan for the first time and they fit right in with us as we were all rowdy during the game.

Tomorrow is worship at Cornerstone, LATER
