Saturday

Well it was a 7:30 wake up after a neighbors dog barked incessantly until after midnight last night, yikes where were its owners. The day started with lots of clouds and finally a little sunshine but the temps were in the low 80's once again for the past couple days. The fore cast is for this to be the last hot day of this year, yeow this is early in September; can this mean there is going to be a hard cold winter here in the mountains. After our quiet times Nancy put some frozen biscuits in the oven then fried up a couple frozen sausage patties and eventually fried a couple eggs so we had the sausage, egg biscuits to start the day. I had sliced tomato and a little fresh ground horseradish on mine, yeow was that ever dewisheous.

I headed out to check on the gardens for any new deer damage but everything looked good. I worked in the gardens turning over some areas where the weeds were out growing the plants. I then sowed some Swiss chard seeds as well as more lettuce and then sowed 4 Celebrity tomato seeds in a clear plastic blueberry package which acts like a greenhouse. After the garden chores I headed up to the corn patch to check on its status. Once again no coons in the trap so I decided to bring the trap back to the house and clean it up so I can return it to Andy and Mechelle Dalton. I pulled 4 ears of corn and shared them with Joe and Jetta.

I decided to take out the fertilizer spreader and spread pelletized on all of the yards. Wow did I ever work up a sweat. After a lite lunch of the leftover fajitas we sat around waiting for it to digest then we took off to the top of the mountain for our daily hike. We made it to the top with only one rest stop and was it ever hot on top. We saw no one except Jetta  and visited for just a few minutes as a large black rain cloud suddenly loomed over us. It never rained but sure looked threatening the rest of the afternoon.

We had a supper of fried ham, scalloped potatoes, fresh broccoli and a garden salad, yikes was that ever tasty. After the cleanup I tuned into the Florida vs Texas AM game. The Gators pulled off a win after losing in the first half. All of a sudden the wind came up and the temps dropped from the low 80's to the low 60's in just a few moments as well as a lite rain shower. The fore cast is for the low 50's tonight and just the high in the 60's tomorrow.

Well its just around 7:30 and its nearly dark as the clouds have moved in and a lite rain is falling. This is definitely the beginning of a Fall evening, LATER
