Sunday Morning

Well Saturday was another warm and humid day which started out about the same time with the early morning wake up call by the dueling roosters next door. After our usual morning rituals and quiet times Nancy and I made burritos. I chopped green peppers and onion from the garden she thawed out some bacon in the microwave and then chopped it into small pieces we mixed all that together in the frying pan with some beat up eggs and and then added mushrooms and cheese. Yeow, was that ever delicious and it held me until supper time. After the clean up I headed out to hand water the gardens, pick green beans and sugar snow peas.

We decided instead of going to the rec for a workout we would once again head over to Walsingham County Park which is just a mile or so from the house. We did the 6 mile hike or walk in about an hour and 10 minutes. We did stop and gander at the wildlife as well as a potty stop. People normally walk about 3-4 miles per hour so we were moving at a decent clip. We saw 4 large gopher turtles out on the trail in the heat and we were surprised at that and then Tyler said he had one to come up into their yard at his house. He and the kids took it to Seminole Park and turned it loose. It must be mating time for those critters as I've never seen so many in one outing.

After the 6 mile hike we came back and I pulled the truck under the big oak in the front yard and spent the next couple hours; vacuuming, washing and waxing, cleaning windows and Armouring the inside vinyl and rubber seals around the door. I even washed out the bed of the truck. That took me up to 3:30 or so and Ava and Sam were coming at 3:45. I flipped on the Rays game with Boston and they let another game get away from them in the 10th inning, Oh Well!!

We kept the kids while Amy and Tyler attended a deacon function at a local residence then were going to go to a movie. We fed the kids grilled marinated chicken breasts, black beans and Jasmine rice and they were thrilled as they put away everything. After the clean up we headed outside so they could expend some of that energy and be entertained by the chickens next door. I dug them some wild clover which grows overnight in my garden and the chickens just go crazy when its offered to them through the fence. We kept them busy with kick ball and finally a wrestling match between the two, who gets to set on the soccer ball like a chicken does on an egg. While Ava is larger

, Sam is quickly catching up and is much stronger. He did good tackling the ball from Ava.

I had to take the hose to both of them before we brought them into the house and straight to the bath tub. After their baths I popped them some corn and it wasn't much longer before Ava was out fast asleep on the floor while watching a Disney movie. Sam was still wound up when the kids got home from their outing around 9:30. Well it was shower times for us and eventually I tuned into a 48 hours special and afterwards it was lights out. Today Sunday is worship day at Element Church in Tampa with son Bobby, LATER
