Saturday

Well it was a lazy day with rain showers early in the morning as we awakened and then off and on during most of the day. After our quiet moments and breakfast I headed outside to check on everything in between rain showers. The temps were in the middle 60's and just barely got out of that range during the day. We got ready and did  get a hike in to the top of the mountain and a quick visit with Jetta. She had picked us up a dozen of farm grown eggs when she picked hers up yesterday and a few home grown 'maters from her garden as well. We met her son and 4 grandsons who were down for a visit this next week from Ohio.

After the hike we came back and settled in as the rain once again drenched the area. I watched the Olympics while Nancy put together a pasta salad for the church picnic which was to happen around 4 PM. We headed out after a rain shower and the closer we got to Sparta we realized the rain was only out our way on the Parkway. There was a good crowd of church folks and the smoked chicken and pork smelled awesome as well as the many other dishes brought by the crowd. We got in several games of corn hole and I was lucky enough to have good pardners as we were the last team standing at the end.

Well we left around 6:30 and made a quick stop at the Dalton Farm to drop off a set of corn hole boards before heading home. We got a a call from Amy and the family as they are on their way home from Kansas and it looks as if it will be some time after midnight before they get to Seminole. That is a long trip from eastern Kansas with 2 little ones. Well tomorrow is church day at Cornerstone, LATER
