Monday

Well today was absolutely a wonderful day with perfect weather. The morning started out with temps in the high 50's, bright sunshine and blue skies and reached the low 80's in the afternoon. We had buckwheat cakes with a couple eggs on top after our quiet times for breakfast and wow were they ever good. After the cleanup at headed out to check on the gardens and found that I needed to harvest my couple small heads of cabbage as the slugs were moving in. Last year I had 12 nice heads of cabbage and this year none except for the couple raggedy heads.

We took off on a hike to the top of the mountain and made it all the way to the back road in one pull. We strolled along the top of the mountain to the Browning's and they were gone and then we headed up to the top. We saw John and Shirley who were doing some touch up painting on their cabin. We stopped and visited with them and learned they were up for only the day.We had a nice visit and really miss their company and friendship.We headed home to get really for our trip to Galax.Nancy had a doctor visit and I needed a haircut plus we needed to get a few groceries from Wal-Mart. We had to go back through Sparta as our pharmacy is located there at Kerr Drugs. Well it was nearly 6 PM before we finally go back to the cabin and we had skipped lunch due to the large breakfast. I grilled a couple kielbasa and along with a  salad for supper and we called it a meal, LATER
