Sunday

Well it was another day filled with scrumptious food as we celebrated Mothers Day in the evening with family but the day started out with Chester waking us up at 5'ish in the morning with his loud crowing; I'm sure gonna miss him after next Saturday, NOT. Anyhow after our quiet time and a lite breakfast we got ready to head to Tampa for our last worship service at Element until next fall. Today was baby dedication day for 5 brand new babies some only a couple months old and of course their were lots of grand parents who visited to witness this ceremony. They had a table set up with fresh fruit, muffins, cheeses, etc for the mom's and a drawing for a beautiful hydrangea pot plant. Well Nancy's name was drawn from the hat and so we now another hydrangea to take and plant with us at the cabin; deer food as they love to nibble the leaves. Oh well!!!

After saying good-bye to several at Element we headed home with Dan riding with us as his wife, Carol is visiting family with her mother in New Jersey. We had a lite lunch of leftovers and then got ready for the big crowd coming around 5 PM. I vacuumed while Nancy made a salad with some garden kale and herbs plus store bought lettuces then I settled in to watch the Rays play the third game  in a series against the Orioles and we won it by the skin of their teeth. At one time we were ahead by 6 runs, oh well at least we are still ahead of the Red Sox and Yankees. Our division is the toughest in all of baseball with perennial winners and huge markets whereas we are the smallest market and truly a David among Goliaths. It makes for some interesting commentary.

I grilled fresh brats and Nathans for the kiddos, GG made her signature Greek potato salad to go with the garden salad, Amy brought fresh buns and Betsy brought a couple lemon pies from the Village Inn. I had to pass on the pies although I did taste the lemon filling and it was so yummy; but I was strong passing on both the buns and pies. The brats were excellent as we did them the way Tyler's folks do in Kansas; just plain grilling them as the juices ran free. After the clean up and while the kiddos were getting baths I tuned into the Survivor final and was surprised that Kim was awarded the million bucks by the those she blindsided during the game. She really was the best woman player at the end as she won immunity several times in a row and during the course of the game.

Well not much else is going on I'm passing on pickle ball on Monday and hopefully will be back starting Wednesday. The knee feels pretty good but I will need for it to be strong as I tackle lots of physical jobs starting in about a week. I' m so excited about seeing our place after so months and looking forward to whipping the gardens and yard into shape; 5 days until we leave, Yeah!!! LATER  Here are a few pics from the latest family get together!!!!
