Sunday

Well it was another chilly morning with lows into the high 30's, yikes this is awesome as the low for Florida was 74 in Seminole then reached the low 90's and very high humidity. It was so cool here Nancy had the oven on for some added warmth to the cabin, by the time when we headed out for worship at Cornerstone we had reached the 50's. Our regular pastor was on vacation so we had a Gideon speaker who did a fabulous job explaining their mission to distribute the Bible in several languages throughout the world and he share several testimonies of those who he had met who had made life changes because of the printed Word found in these small printed Bibles. Its an honor to be able to support such a mission.

After the service we headed out to visit the new vegetable stand near the fairgrounds that's only open on Sunday's from 8 to 4. Their produce was nice and very reasonable compared to the other veggie stand; the only draw back is its open only on Sundays. Oh well!!! We made a stop at Lowe's before heading back to the cabin. We had picked up a rotisserie chicken and had that along with a garden salad for lunch which turned out to be our meal of the day. I settled into to watching the Orioles and the Rays of which the Rays won big 8-4. They are now in first place in the Eastern American league, Go Rays!!! I was surprised to see the Rays on T.V.

After the game we took off for our daily hike up the mountain and ran into Roddy who lives down in Monroe, N.C. and was up for the week-end. He had a new tractor and had done a little tractor work on the back road for his good friend, Donnie Taylor  who had purchased the old Ray Todd place. It was good to visit him awhile before heading over to Joe and Jetta's. I dug up one of my Cilantro plants and potted it for Jetta so we stopped and visited with them for awhile. Joe said he had a fire last night to take the chill out of his house as it got cold on top of the mountain.

We headed on down the mountain and back to the cabin as the rest of the place was like a ghost town. I forgot to mention the view was so clear from the mountain top we could see the buildings in down town Winston-Salem which I've been told is about 70 miles away as the crow fly. I hand watered the gardens as the cool wind blew most of the night and day and had dried the gardens out. Nancy was on the phone with family and friends for nearly an hour  and all seemed well in Florida and they were flabbergasted with the cold temps here when its so stifling hot there. I popped a pan of white popcorn for our supper after the big lunch and the pan of home made snicker doodle cookies she made while watching the game.

Well it was a restful day and my legs can tell the difference after sitting around most of the day for a change, LATER
