Saturday

Well it was another warm morning with temps in the high 60's. After our quiet times we had Cheerios with a peach, banana and some fresh blue berries for breakfast. After eating I headed out on the crutches to hand water the gardens. We had lots of small chores to do before putting the chickens on the smoker. I loaded up the smoker with apple and hickory wood then filled the chicken with fresh Rosemary and cilantro. The meat fell off the bones after about 5 hours of smoking and wow was it ever tasty.

The kids pulled in around 4:30 after leaving Seminole at 4 in the morning. It seems they had back up traffic for a couple hours in Columbia and Charlotte which really added to their travel time. The heat reached 94 once again but it didn't seem as hot as yesterday due to the high cloud cover for most of the morning and a breeze. I headed up to the top of the mountain after breakfast and picked some fresh lettuce at the Brownings garden.

We finally got a 5 minute rain shower after supper which helped with the heat but not enough to really drop the temperature, anyhow we now have the attic fan on which is helping to drop the temps. Hopefully things will cool off tomorrow, LATER
