Tuesday

Once again we had beautiful weather for the date with low humidity, cooler morning temps and a nice breeze. We actually had the windows open most of the day as it was really cool as I rode out to the rec around 7:15. The morning started with Chester crowing at 5'ish. I managed to tune him out until 6 then started my day with a cup of hot green tea then my quiet time and a grapefruit with some blueberries before heading out on my bike. We had a good crowd of pickle ball players with some really nice play. I learned our buddy Stu was eliminated in the singles tournament play last Friday and never made it to the medal round; I thought he had a good chance to win the tournament.

After 2 plus hours of play I stopped off at the library for a new read THE GOOD EARTH by Pearl Buck. I've always wanted to read that classic. I pedalled home to water the gardens and my new seedlings that have sprouted with a hand sprayer. Amy and the kiddos were coming for lunch so we got ready for them. After a lunch of fresh garden salad the kiddos and I headed out into the back yard where they looked for bugs, worms and lizards. Sam and Chester had a meeting at the fence for a few moments while I sat and read. He loves the dirt and was once again had dirty hands and knees and had to be washed off before heading home. After they left around 2 PM for their naps Nancy took her mom(GG) shopping so I read until it was time to start supper.

I cut a head of cabbage from the garden and made a cole slaw and thawed out some Swaii fish filets. This is the best tasting fried fish ever and its very inexpensive at about 3 bucks a pound, dewisheous as Annsley would say. Along with a can of peas that made our supper, once again trying not to eat starch with protein and I'm down a pound from last week. I have a ways to go to reach my goal but watching what I eat together has sure made a difference.

Well I tuned in to the Rays playing in Detroit and it was snowing there. Yikes not only did they lose their first game in the later innings but was shocked by the cold weather when they are accustomed to high heat; of course they play in an a/c closed stadium, oh well they led most of the game and played decent ball, Go Rays!!! After supper and the clean up we headed out for a long walk through the hood and I came back to hand water the front yard once again until dark. After a little of O'Reilly I tuned in to the Deadlist Catch before calling it day, LATER
