Thursday

Well the morning started with some panic as it rained early around 5'ish with a heavy down pour. The roofer was unable to get the roof completed so he placed a large tarp over the roof and during the afternoon deluge it leaked and we had water pouring into the kitchen through a overhead light fixture. Reminded us of our roof leaf at the cabin a couple years back when the ice and snow was so heavy and had built up so much on the tin roof that it broke off a vent stack allowing rain water to pour in through the bathroom light fixtures. We managed to patch the tarp and sweep the water off the roof where it had pooled and hopefully today they can get the flat roof finished. Needless to say Nancy was not a happy camper as we had to postpone the family supper which we will try again on Friday night.

Chester did his crowing early but was overshadowed by the rain we had which was the first in weeks and maybe even a month. After the panic subsided I did my quiet time and got ready to head out to the rec for a couple hours of pickle ball. What a great stress reliever that was and is. I got home and the roofers were back on the shingles part of the house because of the possibility of rain through out the day the flat roof will have to wait until Friday. All of this was held up because of a new building inspector for the city who is making a name for himself, albeit not a very good one in my opinion, Oh well!!

Sam came for lunch and spent the afternoon as Ava was invited to a pool party after school. Sam and I played cars and trucks and watched a movie. We had a grand time together and we are watching both of them Friday night as Amy and Tyler take in a Rays game. Speaking of the Rays they finally showed some good ball playing and where beating the Jays 6-3 when I cut the lights off around 10:30. Not much else is going on except there are storms in the forcast for the week-end with heavy rain expected so I sure hope the roof is finished by then, LATER
