Saturday

Well it was a different kind of day as we slept in despite Chester's big mouth at 5 in the morning crowing his head off. We just tuned him out until nearly 7:30 then we did our quiet times and fooled around on the computer before starting breakfast. We were supposed to hook up with Dan and Carol and head to the Tampa Bay Downs but Dan is still suffering from a kidney stone so they an another couple backed out but we decided we would go anyhow. I took a couple leftover deer sausage links and chopped them up with a green spicy pepper, onion and sauteed them then mixed in a couple eggs for an omelet, yikes was that ever tasty with a little hot sauce on top.

We headed out around 11:30 to Oldsmar and the day was just perfect. The high heat had stayed away but we could feel some humidity and eventually we had a nice thunder shower which really cooled things off. The race track was packed and Nancy got several shots of some magnificent animals. We picked winners in several races but could never match them up another horse so we didn't come away as winners. I think next time we will just pick single horses to win as Nancy finally did in the last race we stayed for which was the 6th race. We headed out around 3:30 and there was still 5 races to go. I had never seen in person a race on turf and they did a couple there.

We got back and realized it had finally rained here as well which the yard and garden appreciated. We had skipped lunch after such a large breakfast of course she had some popcorn at the track. I cut several heads of Bibb lettuce, leaf lettuce along with some Kale, basil and a green pepper and made a huge salad for supper. We had bought a boxed Macaroni Grill pasta supper at Sam's some time ago and decided to finally use it. Wow was that ever good and along with the salad and a little red wine for me we dined. After the clean up I got into the NCAA basketball final 4 and chilled the rest of the night.

Well tomorrow is the gathering at Element in Tampa. Looking forward to seeing and worshiping with a great group of young folks and to see all the new babies, LATER Here are a few race track horse pics.
