Saturday

Well the morning started early with that rooster next door crowing his fool head off as the neighbors must have forgot to cage him because he was right under our bedroom window. Some days I would like to see his picture on a milk bottle, oh well!! The girls managed to sleep through his early noise but did awake around 7. Nancy made the girls strawberry pancakes they wanted so after breakfast we did our quiet times and social networking. We spent the rest of the morning getting ready to head out around 10:30 to the park for Ava's birthday party. Florida temps were back as well as the humidity.

When we got to the park the shelter Amy had paid to be reserved next to the playground had another party in attendance with a different name on the reserve board. I spoke with them and of course they had a reservation receipt as well and were gracious enough to offer us a couple tables at the end of the pavillon but we noticed across the way there were several tables under the trees that were in the shade so we opted to take those instead and it turned out fine as we were still next to the playground for the kids to play. Several of those who we thought were coming from her class failed to show so we had an abundance of pizza leftover as well as vegetable and fruit trays.

The pinata was a hit, literally as it was stuffed with candy and gum. Ava was in her glory with all her friends and she received some really nice gifts. Even though we didn't get the shelter it was no big deal as we had several tables and plenty of room and the rest rooms and playground equipment was right there. We finally broke up around 2 PM and it was starting to be a cooker in the sun. The kids were all red faced and full of energy from all the sugar that was available  and many of the parents took left over pizzas with them. It was a fun day especially for Ava as she and Annsley who have become very good buddies got to have a sleep over the night before.

We headed home to cool off and read the afternoon away until it was time to walk up to our neighbors for supper. I took some fresh herbs and peppers to go with our tacos and yellow rice which was yummy. We played a game of Phase 10 after eating and the clean and I won for a change. I sure hoped the Rays would have won but we watched the Texas Rangers beating them pretty good, oh well they are still in first place in their division, LATER
