Saturday

Well we slept in despite big beak Chester next door crowing around 5 o'clock in the morning, sometimes I can vision him in a golden brown setting with mashed spuds covered in a thick gravy with green beans and sliced tomato's on the side; but he is Sam's buddy and they do play together. Oh well!!! We were planning on meeting up at the Ross house around 10 to ferry some of their household goods to their new rental house and then do some painting in the master bedroom.

After our quiet times and a couple poached eggs for me on a bed of grits I headed out to chase the squirrels out of my newly transplanted lettuce seedling as the buggers dug up most of them. I think today I go and get some chicken wire and cover them and maybe that will stop them from digging. My neighbor and I have trapped at least a dozen or more and they just keep multiplying out of control. We move them across the big highway but it seems every tree in the hood has tons of the pesky critters, Oh well!!!

We painted the bedroom from a light green to a light brown or tan color and we are hoping one coat will suffice as it's supposed to have a primer built into the paint. Their new neighborhood is very friendly as they are on a cul de sac and already as we pulled up the guy across the street came over to visit and introduce himself. We learned the street is on reclaimed water for the yard and will work for his garden, maybe not as good as a well but should be cheaper than city water. This house is much bigger with an updated kitchen and baths, the rooms are huge. There are a few tweaks to be made but it has a fenced yard for the kids and an area for a garden for Tyler.

We headed home around 1 PM for a lite lunch of salad. I did some watering and garden work before settling in to read the rest of the afternoon. We were watching the kids during the evening as Amy and Tyler were going out celebrate their 7 years together at the Salt Rock Grill. Nancy fixed steak fajitas from the left over roast as well as some pasta for the kids. Wow did they both ever chow down. After supper and the clean up we took a nice leisurely walk around the hood until dark. Sam was so fascinated with the near full moon. We came back and gave them baths then watched the movie, Winters Tale. It was shot here in Clearwater about the dolphin that lost its tale from a crab trap and a prosthesis was made for it to survive, hey this was a great family movie. I highly recommend it.

Sam fell asleep just as the credits rolled on the screen and just as Amy and Tyler got back from their date. We all had a good time and they said their meal was fab. Tomorrow is gathering day in Tampa at Element Church. Hope to see you there and if not find a place near you for worship with other folks. LATER

Get a chihuahua or some kind of terrier and your squirrel problem will be solved. Lilly isn't much bigger than a squirrel but boy does she go after those things! My sister's chihuahua is a committed chipmunk chaser.

If you want to see something funny, let Sam feed Chester some of those worms you dig up.

I've considered that but we are dog free after 32 years and I'm not ready for that adventure again. You know now that you mentioned dogs chasing things maybe KC did keep them away and I've just now realized she was the reason they stayed out of my garden all these years!!!
