Saturday

Well it was a busy day with lots of company, but first the morning was ideal with such quietness the dew dripping from the roof was the only sound and finally a crow cawing in the distance. All of this started for me around 5:30 before I rolled out of bed at 6 AM. After my quiet time and a cup of green tea I poached a couple eggs on top of some instant grits and then finished the left over grilled steak from a couple nights ago. Steak and eggs for breakfast, Yummm!!!! We received a call about 7:30 from my youngest sister and niece Kelly, they were coming down for a short visit after all and would be here for lunch. Great!!! We had a super visit along with some KFC for lunch but would have liked it better if they could have spent the night and shared some smoked ribs I had on the cooker. The weather was perfect for their visit and Bonnie, their Jack Russell was a mess as she explored, dug for moles and had the run of the place. We were sad to see them go and are hoping to get together again during the Fiddlers Convention in August.

After Dee and Kelly left we got busy once again to prepare for our evening guests of Jodi, Gerald and Gabriel, Kimberly & Eddie and Ray & Audean. This is the old gang that have been having suppers and games(sequence)together for years. The ribs were plentiful as well as the mac and cheese, potato salad, green beans and strawberry shortcake(I once again was strong and stayed away from the delicious looking dessert). After we chowed down the game began with pretty much a tie through 4 games then they(gals) took control and blasted us the next 4 straight games. They were wallowing in the victory so much so that by 9:30 it was over. They even brought in a 12 yr old(Gabriel) to sit in and play a gal's hand and he was magnificent. Wasn't a good night for the guys.

Well we have another big day tomorrow as Priority Blue , a bluegrass gospel quartet will bring the message in song at Cornerstone then a sit down lunch for those in attendance. Nancy is making a large ham and a yellow squash casserole to contribute. Well better get out of here and its time to get ready for church, LATER!!!
