Wednesday

Well it was overcast as we awakened to start the day but NO RAIN. We had over 2 1/2 inches in 2 days but while that doesn't seem like much it continually rained with fog and such dampness that every piece of furniture on the porch was literally dripping with moisture. Anyhow we did see some blue skies and some sunshine but high clouds were evident for most of the day; while the temps were rather nice with a high around 70. After our quiet times I finished the leftover buckwheat cakes while Nancy had the bowl of boring oatmeal. It was close to 11 before we finally headed off to Galax for some shopping.

I gassed up at 3.57 a gallon before heading to Wal-Mart for some groceries. We ran into our neighbor on top of the mountain, Jetta and then saw old friend Kimberly as well. We loaded up the cooler and truck then had lunch at Subway before we headed home with another stop along the way at Horton's for some ground chuck. It was close to 3 PM before we got back to the cabin. After storing all the goodies we headed out to the top of the mountain for our hike of the day. We stopped and visited with Jetta before heading back down the trail.

I transplanted some seedling into different pots along with some sphagnum moss to help keep the soil lose. I then cut some roots that were starting to show up in the front yard with an ax. That finally gave me a little exercise plus it saved my mower blades as they were starting to protrude. Nancy was busy making cookie dough and getting ready for our company coming on Saturday. We decided to eat leftover vegetable soup and crackers for supper and yeow was it ever tasty. After the clean up I got interested into Fox News; fair, balanced and unafraid.

Tonight is the first presidential debate in Colorado and I'm interested is seeing how this incumbent can spin the lack of leadership for the past 4 years except for making sure the populace is dependent on government handouts and promoting class warfare. I'm sure by now you can recognize that I'm not thrilled with this president and what's happening to our values and ideals, Oh well, LATER
