Saturday

Well it was another cold morning to start with temps in the 30's, yikes it was chilly especially with the breeze we had blowing. After a 7:30 get up we did our quiet times then had a major breakfast of fried ham, eggs, grits and toast, yeow was that tasty and it held us until it was cheese and wine time around 5PM. After the clean up we got ready and headed out to pick peppers at Joe's place.

We picked several bell and jalapeno peppers then headed out to Katelyn house to pick pumpkins out of a field that has been picked over. We picked up several nice ones that were left in the field to be plowed under. We rode some new roads we had never been on before then across the county to visited some houses that were for sale. We found two houses where the realtor showed them to us on memorial Drive. That is a very nice area with some beautiful homes on large 2-5 acre tracts. It was after 3 before we headed back to the cabin and we took a golf cart ride to the top of the mountain where we (Dan and Carol) looked at 2 more homes there that are for sale. They both loved Joe and Jetta's place as well as Tommie's place for varying reasons and are interested in retiring in the near future and would like a place here in the mountains.

It was going on 5 when we decided to have some cheese, crackers and a glass of vino. Nancy had the ribs ready to go on the grille and while they were cooking we shot the BB gun then finally the 22 rifle at some targets from the the side deck. Along with oven taters, spaghetti squash and sliced tomato's with fresh basil we had a feast. It was close to 6:30 when we finally sat down at the table. After the clean up we had a nice game of domino's and Carol really won big.

Well it was a great day with beautiful clear skies and warm temps into the 60's. We spoke with both Amy and Bobby and the temps in Florida were into the high 80's and may have reached 90 according to the Internet. It's hard to believe there is a 40-50 degree differential in the temps from Florida and here. Well it will be quiet around here as Dan and Carol leave for Florida in the morning. It's been a fun filled week with lots of good eatin', sightseeing and games at night. We saw lots of new places and some beautiful Fall colors. Next week end, Nancy and I will be traveling up the valley to the Winchester area for the week end to see my family. Here are a few pics from yesterday and today, LATER
