Monday

Well we slept in until nearly 8AM and did those flannel sheets ever feel great on this cold damp morning. It was in the high 30's and just down right bone chilling. After our quiet time and coffee time(green tea for me) we decided to have eggs, fried leftover taters and sausage for breakfast; of course I added a tomato and a jalapeno pepper to mine. Yeow was that ever good eatin' and it held me to around 2 PM when we snacked a little.

It was around noon when the rain let up so Nancy, Dan and myself took off for a hike to the top of the mountain. It was misting and there was a breeze which just made our nose and ears cold and red. We cut the hike short due to the cold but we did the steep areas which was what we needed after being in the cabin all day yesterday afternoon and most of the morning. We came back after the hike and just chilled hugging the propane heater and reading. I finished THE HARBINGER and then started on the book NO EASY DAY which is the first hand account of the demise of Osama Bin Laden.

We decided since we purchased fresh broccoli last week we would make a pot of broccoli soup on this cold day. The soup along with a fresh salad and a loaf of dinner bread made for a great tasting supper. After the clean up by Dan and myself we took off on a walk down the driveway then up past the old Todd place and then down the back trail through our woods. We finally got Carol to go with us and it was an exhilarating walk that found us at near total darkness as we approached the cabin. It actually felt warmer as we set out for our walk. Tomorrow is supposed to be a little warmer and at least some  sunshine. I'm writing this before we start the evening card games as our guest are catching their breath's, LATER
