Worship at Cornerstone, Lunch at Taco Bell and Grandma Everett arriving

Wow, what a great way to start the day with giving thanks for another week. Annsley visited and stayed in the nursery for the very first time in her young life. The workers said she was a perfect baby. Bob and Jill got to visit with other worshipers they had met on their previous visits to Cornerstone. Such a joy to be part of a vibrant group of Believers...

After leaving Cornerstone we were famished so we ran through the drive-in at Taco Bell after stopping at Lowes's and Hawk's produce. Made it back with little Annsley telling us it was time for a nap as she missed her morning one. She went down for nearly 2 hours of slumber. YEA!!! Bob and I got 2 fat chickens ready(rolled in olive oil, spices and stuffed with rosemary) and yes finally a beer can up the bottom. I had tried this before and found the flavor and moist meat to be unbeatable. We put them on the smoker with lots of oak wood and settled back while they cooked until 6 PM. Nancy made a large broccoli casserole and put several large sweet potatoes in to bake. A fresh garden salad filled out the menu except for a glazed orange pound cake for dessert.YUMMMM....

Grandma Everett arrived at 8 PM with nieces Arrianne and Eliese. They had been on the road for 13 plus hours. There were several delays on I-26, but all is well that ends well. After we filled them up, we then had a Hot game of "chickenfoot" dominoes which Jill won and Bobby was second. The rain game down again and it was such a blessing. This week end could be considered a wet week-end....

Well as you can tell we are back on the Internet after being off since Friday Night. Monday morning brought a damp cool morning but with the promise of sunshine. Bob and I headed over to Triple E Riding Stables for 10 Am ride. We met Stacy Evans the owner and instantly connected with him and his love for horses. Stacy is pursuing his dream of helping "special needs" individuals with the use of horses. Much like a Kiwanis program called Horses for Handicap I was familiar with. Stacy is registered as a non-profit organization called Allegheny Trail Blazers, Inc. I plan to volunteer once a week as I had to another group some 3 years earlier as a spotter, assistant or a horse leader. I remember a young man in his 20's, Marshall who has had special needs since his birth who I use to lead around on horse back. Bob and I had a great ride up towards Bull Head Mountain. Bob got to gallop at near warp speed on Blaze a beautiful mixed Quarter and Arabian stead.

The girls took off to Galax to browse and left Annsley with us. She will go from 0-to -90 and back in seconds. Its a growing process for parents. Later, missing the rest of the family and especially Ava.
