Beautiful Morning,Picked Blackberries, Zucchini Pie and VBS

Wow, it was another outstanding morning with cool temp's and heavy dew. After the usual routine of checking for deer damage of which there was none, I had my quiet time.

I ate a leftover huckleberry pancake before heading off to the top of the mountain to pick berries. I found great patches of them and within 1 1/2 hours I filled a gallon and quart container. There are so many red berries(unripe) that we should have all we can use this year. I want to make a gallon of blackberry vino and Nancy wants to make jelly, plus freeze some for cobblers next winter in Florida. We took a long hike to the top when I got back from picking berries. While hiking we ran across this pine tree that had decorated itself for Christmas. Never before had I ever seen a tree decorated like this.

Nancy made a supper salad(homegrown lettuce, basil, chives and cherry tomato's) for lunch as well as spicing up the cabin with her floral decorations. After we ate I spent the next couple hours calling all our billers, etc. to change our mailing address as 911 changed our address because we are no longer on a private driveway.

I picked some fresh squash as Nancy made one of our favorite dishes, Zucchini pie. Yummm ask her for her recipe. It is unbelievable delicious. We ate early around 5 PM as we had our last night of Vacation Bible School at Cornerstone. Once again we had a great turn out with almost as many volunteers as children. What a loving group of believers and to top it off 8 youngsters made a profession of faith. This night's decision will change the rest of their lives and to think anyone of us may have helped them to make that choice.

Just an update on Sandy(church member taken to the hospital) it turned out to be a blood pressure problem and not another heart attack. She is back home with her family and resting. On the way home from VBS the full Moon and Jupiter shown brilliant over the mountains, just another reminder to us of GOD's beautiful creation. Later, missing our family and grand babies Ava and Annsley
