Sunday

What an awesome day to take time to honor GOD by gathering to give our worship, our thanks and an offering. Bobby had a right on message and the music left you in tears of joy. Wow and besides our house church decided to help out a young family who had their Christmas shattered by unexpected car repair expenses. What a blessing to help out and see the disbelief and unexpected relief on their faces; once again confirming the saying it is better to give than receive.

The morning started out with cool temps down into the 50's and stayed rather chilly in the shade most of the day especially when out in the open breeze. We rode with our neighbors and friends Dan and Carol to Element for worship then afterwards headed over to Plant City to look for a restaurant for lunch. Well we had no idea about one certain eatery we knew of by name but was unable to find it but did see a sign for Fred's Home Cooking in Plant City proper. Well I must say they need more signs for tourist but the locals know where to go and they were there in droves. This place had the best tasting, food except for how "your momma use to make it" I have ever eaten. Yikes, even though it was a buffet the variety was endless and when you see local folks standing a 1/2 hour or more in line to to be seated should right away say something. We stayed and our waitress was the splitting image of our sweet niece Halley Jo right down to her mannerisms; it was uncanny causing Nancy and I comment about her several times. Needless to say we brighten her Christmas as well in Halley's name with a nice tip; but the food was out of site with the seasoning coming from a seasoned Southern cook. The restaurant while nothing fancy on its furnishings was remarkable in taste and variety as well as were its customers. What a mix of the races and when you have tons of mixed folks and some big enough to be the entire football line for the Bucs you know the food is good and plenty.

Well from the soup to the dessert it was the best tasting meal I have ever eaten out at a buffet. I even tried 2 desserts; peach cobbler and I brought a brownie covered in whip cream with a glaze of nut sauce for Nancy and she was too full so I had 2 desserts it was that tasty. They even give seniors a buck off and a discount if you clean your plates so there was no waste from our plates as it was that good. They even had fried green tomato's that where crispy, dewisheous!!!

Afterwards we headed to their blueberry winery to pick up their case of wine they get every couple months. The wine is very good as we have tasted it before but we were unaware Florida was such a great place for growing blueberries. We had an ice slushy made from blueberry wine and it was very tasty. The winery is small but their tasting room was very busy and we hope in the month of February when they are scheduled for their next case pickup we may stop before heading to Fred's for lunch and do some tasting.

Well Nancy's head cold seemed be getting progressively worst as the day wore on so we skipped the 6 PM cantata at SFBC and stayed close to home. She spoke with her folks up in Michigan and her dad was about the same. He was complaining so we knew he was doing as well as can be expected. Lots of the other grand kids along with their kids came by for a visit many of which he had never seen before so that was good for him. He has really filled up with fluids in the past 2 weeks, gaining over 25 pounds but he refuses to go to the hospital and wants to stick it out at home. He still is eating and able to sit in a wheelchair so that good and we even have a picture of him smiling with one grandson.

We just stayed home for the evening; me watching an upset win by the Chiefs over the undefeated Packers and then watched the Broncos and Tebow let a 16-7 lead slip away and lose to the Patriots. We then watched the Survivor finale up to the live show. I will have to check the website to see who won.

Well I'm hoping to get back on the pickle ball court this Morning(Monday) as it been 5 days since I last worked out and I need to start letting some air out of this spare tire around my middle. LATER
