Saturday

Well it was another gorgeous morning in the mountains with temps in the low 60's and a soft gentle breeze with just enough dew in the grass to make your feet wet. We were up at 6:30 anticipating heading out to our church to help with a yard sale fund raiser for our youth to go to Miami over the 4th of July. After our quiet times and a bowl of oatmeal we got ready to head out and was at the church by 9 AM. After the sale we headed out to Subway for lunch then to Lowes for a few things before heading back to the cabin. We took off on a mountain hike and ran into several week-end residents we hadn't seen since last November. It was great to see Tommy and Carol Brown so we visited with them before heading back to the cabin. I did a little watering and then Nancy started supper. I put a couple marinated chicken breasts on the grill while she oven baked some tater tots and a heated a can of sweet peas as well as made a fresh salad, Yumm!!

After clean up I watered and worked out in the garden until it was time to tackle the mountain once again for another hike. This time we ran into Bertie and her brother Dave and his wife Shirley while heading to the top and again as we were heading back down. We talked them into visiting us at our cabin so we headed home and showed them around. We had a pleasant visit and learned at one time that Dave had been a N.C. State Trooper for 8 years before giving it up.

Well neighbor Gerald is visiting this week end so we are going to play pickle ball this Sunday around 3 at Roaring Gap with Ted Smith; unless I can find a fourth it looks like a 2 on 1. Anyhow will be the first time I've picked up a pickle ball paddle since May 12th and should be fun. Well better get out of here as tomorrow is worship at Cornerstone in the AM. LATER
