Well Sunday was a little different as we stayed in Pinellas County for church. We headed out to our old church to see our grand son, Samuel get dedicated in the worship service. It was really very nice as we had dedicated both Bobby and Amy in that very church when they were just babies. It was good to see so many of our old friends once again and Samuel was such a delight. After leaving SFBC we headed on home for some lunch and then to get ready for Mother's Day dinner.
I watched a little Ray's baseball and they looked and played terrible against the Oakland A's; they were so bad the other team had a perfect game. Not sure if the long road trip is part of the reason but they sure didn't look like the team that is leading their division. Oh well!!
We had a full house for supper. I boiled brats in beer bath with onions, then grilled them and then put them back in the beer bath to soak before we put them on a bun with sauteed onions and green peppers. Nancy also made her famous yellow squash casserole and a chocolate cake with white icing, GG made a pasta salad, Amy made a regular salad, Betsy made spinach casserole and Bobby brought yummy rolls. That sure was a good meal. Everyone had a great time especially Ava and Annsley as they played and then bathed together. They were still running around at 10:30 wide eyed. Nancy read a ton of books to them but that didn't slow them down either.
I had a tough time sleeping last night as I get nearer to out departure date; seems I do a lot of work in my thoughts that needs to be done instead of sleeping. Oh well that's me just like a kid that gets all excited anticipating a new adventure. Monday morning found me up a little before 6 getting ready for pickle ball at 7:30. After my quiet time and a bowl of oatmeal with a banana I pedalled out to the rec. We had 14 pickle ball players today and afterwards I did my workout in the weight room.
Amy and the grand babies came for lunch and we finished off the last couple brats and salad for lunch then the girls headed out to Target for shopping. Well I finished calling all my creditors for changing addresses, turning the phone, t.v. and broadband DSL back on in the mountains and set up for our "mountain mom" Helen to pick up our modem from the telephone company there on Friday.
Well I will get out of here for now, LATER.

Saturday
Well here I am again after being lazy yesterday with an update on whats happening in Florida. First its HOT and HUMID again but of course we realize that's the way its supposed to be with no freezing weather here in central Florida. I see where there is temps down into the 30's this AM in the mountains and of course we are getting geared up for that transition come this Friday. We just caught up on some jobs around here yesterday morning(Sat) instead of doing the beach scene as we usually do on Saturday morning, beside Nancy was chastised from her dermatologist about all the years she baked her face in the sun, still waiting for that bill,Oh well.
After lunch we ran out to do a couple errands and to get ready for the grand kids coming for supper. We watched them last evening and had such fun, Ava is maturing so quickly and is just a little mommy to Samuel and of course he is now bright eyed and holding his head up for short periods. He would not go to sleep last night until after 10PM, he wasn't crying but just wide eyed and entertaining us with his cooing and smiles. Today we are visiting our old home church in Seminole as Samuel is being dedicated, plus it will be good to renew lots of our old friendships there. We are having the whole family over for Mother's Day dinner this evening.
Well not much else going on around here except just making lists of things to do and people to call before Fridays trip, LATER.

Friday
Well its another Florida day with high humidity as well as temps in the high 80's but there was lots of sunshine. The morning started out the usual with my quiet time, a boring bowl of oatmeal and a ride out to the rec for some pickle ball. We had 14 players today and there were lots of wet shirts, afterwards I stopped off at the weight room for some crunches and lifts before heading home to water the gardens. Amy and the grand babies were coming for lunch and then afterwards the girls were going shopping while I baby sat Ava.
Ava had her many snacks after the girls took off, watched BOLT the movie and then she played with the doll house while I had to dress these itsy bitsy doll's. Yikes are they ever small, anyhow we had a fun time and she is such a delight but just make sure you have plenty for her to snack on.
We had neighbors and friends Dan and Carol for supper tonight. I grilled rosemary crusted pork chops(bone-in) with baked spuds, broccoli, fresh beets out of the garden and a Caesar salad. Carol made a nice fruit salad for dessert with fresh pineapple, raspberries, blackberries, and watermelon. Yumm was that ever tasty. We played a game of Phase 10 with Dan winning again and Carol a close second. It was a fun evening and one we probably won't have again until they trek our way this fall in the mountains.
Tomorrow is beach day for the final time before heading north. We are watching Ava and Samuel tomorrow night as the kids are going out on a date night. Sunday we are having the family here for Mothers Day and again on Tuesday for a roast turkey dinner in celebration of Amy 's birthday later on this month. LATER

Wednesday and Thursday
Well both of these past 2 days have been pretty much the same with the usual quiet time, boring bowl of oatmeal and a ride on the bike to the rec for some pickle ball. We had large numbers of players both day with lots of wet shirts, Wow did we ever have a great last match today with Mitsko and myself beating Judy and Pete in straight sets. Afterwards I did my usual crunches and heavy weight workout. I'm now down 6 1/2 pounds and holding, but after the great dinner tonight of spaghetti and salad that may change when I get on the scales tomorrow.
We had Amy and the grand kids as well as GG and Pap for supper, good eatin' and of course Nancy used only fresh herbs from the garden in the sauce as well as all the fixin's for the salad. I cut the last of the romaine lettuce today, so from now on its buy it at the market. That was a really good run on the lettuce for the last couple months but the heat is starting to cause the lettuce to bolt(go to seed). I have a few hills of Bib lettuce left but the heat stymied its growth.
On Wednesday evening we met with our house church group so Nancy made a large layered taco dip for a snack and of course there were several store bought desserts. The dip was excellent and I put some of the leftover in a flour tortilla along with a fresh jalapeno pepper and called that my lunch today, Yumm! We had 17 adults and 6 kids last night and several of the group didn't make it at all for what ever reason. We will certainly miss our weekly get togethers for fellowship, devotions and prayers; but we are looking forward to meeting with all those we left in November at Cornerstone in our small group.
I mowed the yard after getting back from the rec and watered until it was time for lunch. The grand kids both had doctors appointments(checkup's) this morning so Nancy went along to help out and Samuel is nearly 14 pounds and Ava is 31 pounds, Samuel had to get 3 shots today so he was a bit fussy and subdued at times but did manage to entertain us with his cooing and smiles. Ava of course wants to play hide n' seek with any and everyone, she is such a delight. Well I will get out of here as its getting close to baseball time on the left coast in Seattle with the Ray's. They won again last night and are still the best team in all of baseball, Yikes that's scary. This time next week if plans hold true we will be packing up to head to the cabin early on Friday morning. LATER

Tuesday
Well if you noticed I posted some photo's a little while ago because I couldn't figure out why Picasa would only allow me to post 4 at a time, so with Tyler's expertise I learned once again how to post pics on the blog. I'm glad I'm getting the wrinkles out before we head north. Speaking of heading to the mountains as I write we are planning on next Friday the 14th, of course that could change depending on her dad's heart report from his tests yesterday.
This morning started out the usual with a few quiet moments, a bowl of boring oatmeal and a ride out to the rec on the bike for some pickle ball. We had 4 players for the first 30 minutes then another 6 arrived through out the morning and there was some really good play with of course lots of wet shirts. Afterwards I stopped by the weight room for some lifts and crunches before heading home to water the gardens. Nancy was at the dermatologist so I was waiting for Amy and the kids to show for lunch. After lunch we just played with kids until it was time for them to head home as Amy was having us for supper. She fixed a delicious beef roast, mashed 'taters and gravy, fresh carrots and croissant rolls. YUMM was that ever good and of course I had to eat seconds.
After the clean up Tyler planted a few plants I brought over for his garden and helped me figure a new way to down load pics to my blog, seems everyday I'm learning more and different things about this computer and all its programs. We played with the grand babies and watched American Idol before heading home. It was a great evening and was the food ever good, Amy is as good a cook as her mother. Well will close for now and get ready to watch an inning of Ray's baseball as they are in Seattle and the game doesn't start until 10:15. LATER

Monday
Well its officially summertime as temp's hit the 90's today; however we did have a decent breeze. After a few quiet moments and a bowl of cereal with a banana I pedalled out to the rec for some pickle ball. We had about 20 players for the day with 8 to start the early morning play. There were lots of wet shirts during the 2 1/2 hour workout. Afterwards I was in the weight room on the heavy weights and crunch bench, got in about 150 of those before heading out to the library for a couple reads.
Nancy had to take her folks to the heart doctor for her dad's echo cardiogram around lunch time so she delayed her workout until after 3 PM. Amy brought Ava by after lunch so she could do some shopping so we had a good time playing hide and seek, watching Bolt(movie) and of course her snacks. They stayed until nearly 3 PM before heading out. Samuel was so a cute little boy today with all of his smiles and cooing. He follows you by moving his head and eyes as you enter the room. He is starting to really be strong with holding his head up. I took several photos today and hopefully I will be able to down load. After the kids left I caught up on some reading and some picture work with all of the down loads from my old laptop.
I grilled chicken legs and Nancy did oven spuds along with peas for supper. After cleaning up I headed outside to work in the yard and gardens; watering, pulling weeds and transplanting some new seedling and starts. I found out if you have a large rosemary plant and want to start another plant without planting seeds just take some dirt and bury a lower branch leaving the green tip out and water daily. After about 2 weeks or so the branch that is under ground with start to sprout and send out roots. Cut that branch off aways from the roots and re pot. You should have another rosemary plant ready for use in about a month.
