Saturday Morning

Well here it is the first day of June and we are certainly in the doldrums of summer in Florida with high heat, humidity and finally a thunder shower last evening that brought some minor relief from the drought. It may have settled the dust some what. Friday started out much the usual with the feathered fowl next door around 5'ish with their crowing. I really am not going to miss them when we get to the mountains but the hens are something else. Sam just loves to aggravate them and they stay by the fence whenever he is around. After the usual cup of green tea with some cinnamon, a few quite moments to reflect and a lite breakfast I got ready to head to the rec for some 3 hour workout. We had 2 courts of players for pickle ball which resulted in some great fast and furious rallies and lots of wet shirts. Afterwards I did another 15 minutes on the treadmill with the incline set at 5% grade. I have got to get ready for the hill country hikes especially the one that goes up through the back of our cabin property, yikes it must be at least 10-15% grade or more. It's nearly straight up near the top.

Well we are getting anxious about being there once again and of course I have the place looking good and we haven't arrived yet. It's unbelievable how much work I get done in my sleep. Anyhow after the rec Nancy took her mom to another appointment and then took her home. We had a lunch of salad with just the 2 of us as Nancy went to Ava's school to see her in a school play and then Amy and Sam stayed home with Tyler. After lunch we did some more packing and getting ready for the trip north. I picked up a book I had on order and spent a couple hours with it before we got ready to head over and pick up GG to take with us to Amy's for supper. She had a beautiful Caesar salad and stuffed peppers, wow were they ever delicious. After the clean up we watched some frightening weather that was happening in Oklahoma and Missouri. It's terrible for those folks who are in harms way from those destructive tornadoes.

We got back to the house after dropping GG off and then headed for the showers. I managed to watch a little baseball that eventually got rained out and by 10:30 the sandman had arrived, LATER.... Here are a few photos of the kids at Ava's school play.
