Monday Morning

Well Sunday turned out to be a dry day despite rain clouds all around the area and even some fog and haze on the way to Element. The morning was much the usual for Sunday as we tried to sleep in while roosters next door serenaded us at 5'ish. That will be the last Sunday morning we will hear them as we are leaving and so are they. Their owners are leaving the house to foreclosure and moving 2 doors down to where the mother once lived and hopefully they are taking the chickens and all of their junk with them. Sam will be sad to see them go but it's been to hot outside to play with them anyway.

Bobby had a quest speaker from Siberia, Russia who planted 3 churches there 7 years ago before Putin kicked missionaries out of the country. Those 3 churches have grown to 27 and now they are being let back into the country and they are heading back there this month of June. Our church is helping them with some of their expenses and we will become a sister church to them as well. We said good-bye to all at Element as well and got lots of hugs and while Dan had an elders meeting Nancy, Carol and I went to Ikea which is just down the road from Element. We shopped for a new lamp for Carol that she bought there some time ago but that is now a discontinued item. Nancy picked up a couple lightweight spreads for the upstairs bedroom at the cabin as well as a salad spinner. We ate lunch there as well and that seems to be a big drawing card for them. Wow was that place ever crowded and huge in size, it took us forever to get out of there.

We got back to the house a little after 1 and I vegetated in front of the tube with what will be my last game for the Ray's for some time. They beat the Indians big time 11-2 and gained a little ground on the Yankee's. I will only be able to watch the Ray's on the Internet unless ESPN carries a game. Well we were invited to Dan and Carol's for a farewell supper of pot roast, smashed taters, squash and carrots and it was delicious. After the cleanup we played a game of Phase 10 and Nancy smoked us and I was the big time loser after once being ahead. I never could get off Phase 7, oh well we had a fun time and we will surely miss our great meals and game playing time. Hopefully they will get to come to the cabin in the Fall.

They have lots of new things happening at their house as they are having an addition to the house for Carol's mom to move in with them due to her advanced age and added extra care. The plans of the construction which should be completed by the time we get back next fall look exciting. Just as we got ready to leave the house for Dan and Carols we got a depressing call from a friend in the mountains. Seems a couple we see regularly through the summer and even eat with and play games with have decided to end their relationship. Yikes is that ever a devastating bit of news.

Well tomorrow is the big day for us as we head out for our cabin in the woods. We are so looking forward seeing old friends, entertaining and working the place into shape and especially some cooler temps. Even with the rain breaking the drought in the area, the  heat and humidity have taken over and unless its the early morning or late evening hours it's not pleasant outside at all. This will be my last post for a day or so on these rambling of my daily occurrences. I want to leave who we were for our grand kids for them to see the pictures and read about our lives. I remember finding a few old black and white photos of my grand parents and often wondered what their life was like on the farm. Why so many were buried in different cemeteries in small community churches in the mountains of northern Virginia. Hopefully by leaving this blog for them they will understand who we were, what we stood for and how did they become such an important part of our lives, LATER

Just a note on the business aspect of our existence that I do for fun. This month of June our team leaders who by the way are a generous young couple with 2 small girls have made being an independent business operator with Amway a success as well has helped our daughter in law Jill to become a success in the business as well have another promo. All Legacy of Clean products are buy one get one free. Our team leaders actually purchase the free ones you receive and ship it to you free as well. We use all of the laundry detergents and dish washing soap as well as many of the cleaning products. They are great for the environment as well especially since we are on a septic at the cabin. They have done a great marketing job and in addition to the bogo's you can get free shipping on your original order if you purchase at least 30 PV(product values) of products and you make your order by the 10th of the month. You will receive a reimbursement check from them for the shipping costs. 30 PV's is about a hundred dollars worth of items but you can check items on the website by clicking on any product and it will tell you the PV amount. Now none of these promo's comes from Amway per say just the products. I now have several customers who are thoroughly satisfied as we are with the products, check us out at www.amway.com/JNTriplett
