Thursday

Well it was another Hot and Humid day here on the Suncoast with temps in the high 90's and humidity that is down right heavy. After a rather nice morning of low 80's I pedalled out to the rec after my quiet time for some 2 1/2 hours of pickle ball. There was a good crowd on hand and it was non-stop play. After PB I headed home to rest up until Amy and the kiddos came for lunch. I finished a good read by Andre Dubus III titled TOWNIE and then started another about Al Capone. These are new non fiction books so I check that area everyday when I'm at the library.

We finished up the leftover dish of artichoke hearts sauteed with asparagus, garlic, grilled chicken breasts with pasta from the other night and it was delicious especially with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice. Hmmm!!! We played with Ava and Sam and what a climber he is and he usually gets down alright as well except he tumbled from a chair he was climbing on, to the carpet. He sniffled for a second or two then was back at it again, he is all boy. Ava is just wild about going to school and is such a sweetie. Seems the poisoning she incurred from the fillings hasn't left any permanent damage to her as far as we can tell, thankfully.

After the kids left for their naps we just chilled and I read until it was time for supper. Nancy fried up an egg plant we picked up at the market the other day and we picked at the last of the rotisserie chicken. Friday I'm doing a couple beer can chickens for a family supper on the smoker so we should be "fowled out" by the week end. Speaking of the week-end it looks like Sunday will be the head back to the mountains day for a couple weeks to check on the cabin and finish up some much needed painting of the bump out and a few other chores before winter. Winter ahhh!!! or at least some cooler temps. We feel like we are caged here in Florida as its difficult to get outside and work for any length of time as the heat is stifling.

We watched some Fox news an in between showers managed a walk around the hood after supper. We saw several we hadn't seen in awhile and one couple had been in our mountain hood a couple weeks ago. They drove through Galax and spent the night in W. Jefferson which isn't too far from Sparta. We assured them to look us up the next time as we are in the phone directory, anyhow we came back and watched the Pennsylvania team lose in a close game to the California team in little league. It was great to see the whole town support their boys from PA. I crashed at the end of the game after a hot shower and was really for night-night at 10 PM as this PB is keeping me wore out and fit, thankfully.

Just an update on Paw Paw as he has really improved since his triple by pass and starts driving today and moves back to his residence in Winchester from Woodstock. We are thrilled he is doing so well and can get some of his independence back, Pap Pap is doing better as well as is still driving so we can head north for a couple weeks. Thanks for all the prayers and thought for these 2 men who have made such a difference in our families and lives, LATER
