Friday

Well once again the rooster started their dueling around 6 in the morning but I was awake and ready to start the day, can't believe its still so dark out at that time of the day. Anyhow after my quiet time and a bowl of oatmeal I headed out on my bike to the rec for some pickle ball. We had a good crew today with mostly advanced players so the action was fast and furious for 2 1/2 hours, wow was that ever a workout and the wet shirts were everywhere.

After the rec I headed home to help get ready for the family supper tonight and what a spread that was. I put on two birds with beers in the rear while Nancy made cobblers, got broccoli ready to cook and made a huge toss salad and sliced bread. Bobby made a superb mac and cheese probably the best I've ever eaten of course it was nothing like the normal mac and cheese. This was more like a gourmet pasta dish with all kinds of unusual ingredients and Amy some great pintos with smoked turkey legs. Yikes what a spread. and the meal was topped off with frozen yogurt on top of blackberry cobbler. I passed on dessert but did lick the ice cream scooper. The grand babies had a wonderful time together and Gabe is now walking everywhere and he and Sam were fun together, of course Ava and Annsley are in their own little world.

Everyone started leaving about 9 PM as the kids were getting tired as well as us adults. GG and Pap came and seemed to really enjoy the meal, he seems a little better and looked pretty good except for some swelling in his ankles. Well it seems there has been another need and a reason we aren't going to make it back to the mountains until after Gabe's birthday around the middle of Sept. Tyler is leaving this Sunday for a week in Las Vegas for his job so we decided to stay here to help with Ava and Sam while he is away. That will leave us just another week before we had to come back for Gabe's party on the 15th so we will skip Annsley's scheduled party as Jill had to change her date for her party so we will celebrate Annsley's, GG's and Tyler's birthdays all around the time of Gabe's party. That hopefully will give us a little more time without having to come back a second time in October, oh well!!!
