Friday

Well we awakened to 42 degrees this AM with 10-15 mph winds. The skies were partly cloudy but mostly sunny. After our quiet times and a lite breakfast of oatmeal and fruit I headed down to the basement to wash a load of laundry before heading to Sparta to see Dr. K. My blood test was right on and the doc once again adjusted my in take of cumadin. After leaving his office we went by the Blue Ridge Gallery to visit with our old friends Joe and Melia Edwards. They have a real special place and their handicrafts are amazing.

After leaving there we head back to the cabin for some lunch of deer salami and left over beef barley soup. Yumm was that ever tasty on this cool windy day. We headed out to the top of the mountain after lunch and ran into our old friend Norman. It was good to see him and that he is recovering from some minor surgery to his ear. After a short visit we headed on back and I piddled around outside before neighbors Shirley and Grant called needing someone to head down to their cabin and start their heaters as they were having visitors this evening. I also started my gas heater when I got back to the cabin as the temps were starting to fall, especially with the strong wind.

We had leftover black beans and rice along with a salad for supper. After the clean up we headed out once again to the top of the mountain in reverse as the wind was so strong. Nancy was dressed in a large coat with the hood on and she looked like an Eskimo. Well we are heading out to Virginia in the AM for a couple days to visit with family, so we will be away from this keyboard until Monday evening. LATER
