Sunday

Well after a terrific morning with much needed wetness from the deluge last night that amounted to 2 inches of rain we did our quiet times and ate oatmeal with peaches and banana for breakfast. I did the walk around outside and found literally hundreds of the slimy slugs and snails(they have a shell). My fingers became so glued from squashing them that I decided to use a stick to annihilate them and of course step on the ones I saw crawling in the grass. How they found my new lettuce seedlings I had left in the pots overnight was amazing to me; of course they completely consumed a couple with no signs there was ever a healthy vibrant romaine seedling.

We headed off to Cornerstone for worship and was treated to the graduation of 12 men from the men's group called Top Gun. Its a 39 week study of the interaction of this brotherhood with Christ at the center and the effects of these relationships with regard to their family and their faith. The stories of change from each of these men as well as their relationships with their families had us all in tears. Cornerstone has been involved with this ministry for the past 4 years. Congratulations to all as it meant at least a one night commitment.

After church we headed home to eat leftovers for lunch and then we lazied around while we had another good rain that lasted about an hour or so. I watched a little college baseball world series playoff and the Florida State Seminoles are heading to the series again, Go 'Noles!! It cleared off enough so that we could get in at least one good hike today and Nancy took the camera and took some pics. We got back around 5 o'clock and once again the heat and humidity were building which led to another rain shower which really cooled things down again. I started the grille as Nancy had a couple chicken breasts in a marinate all afternoon, while she made a large toss salad and put some carrots on to cook. Supper was yumm and afterwards I got hooked on a National Geographic program about Siberia. Well not much else is happening today, but tomorrow we head to Galax to get ready for guests arriving on Wednesday afternoon. LATER
