Yard Work, Hike, Angelfood and 3-Legged Cow

Thursday was a beautiful morning down in the 50's and bright blue skies. After our quiet time with the Creator, we had a lite breakfast and I hit the garden and backyard. The 7+ inches of rain 2 weeks ago exposed several large rocks and several roots. I took a digging tool(pick ax),ax and a bag of grass seeds. I worked up a good sweat while digging and walking on a hillside even though the air was dry and cool.

About 11 AM, Nancy was ready for our only hike of the day as we were committed for the rest of the afternoon with the Angelfood Ministry at Cornerstone. Wow, we had some local newspaper exposure which came out that very morning and we probably saw and ordered for nearly a dozen people. What a big help especially for those folks on a limited income and the food is quality.

After our hike Nancy made a lunch of fresh guacamole and chips with a little salad. YUMMM. We loafed around here doing boring little jobs until it was time to head for Cornerstone. Our friend Andy Dalton alerted us to field on the way to church that had a 3 legged cow. That's right it was born with only 1 front leg on its right side. Well it was near the road on the way home so I stopped and got a couple pictures. This cow is a quite large and hobbles well as it moves around to graze. Unbelievable!!!!

We got back around 6:30 and the evening shadows had already covered the back yard so we fired up the grille for a couple burgers and some oven fries. After eating we watched the weather channel for the 3 storms and the national news. By then it was starting to get dark so we cancelled our 2nd hike. I was having some allergy problems(which I never get) so I took a Clarentin. After a hot shower I couldn't get in the mood(plus the NFL came on at 7) to write so here I am this AM(Friday). I'm planning on helping Odell Wright plow his potato's out of the ground this late morning or early afternoon.

I'll send pics and update probably tomorrow as we have guests tonight for games. Later hoping Amy, Tyler and Ava are having a grand time in Colorado with his family and that Bob, Jill and Annsley are monitoring these storms out in the Atlantic. Missing all of you.
